Volunteer Opportunities

Surrounded by Cedar Child & Family Services believes in volunteerism! If you are searching for opportunities to give back to your community through volunteering, Surrounded by Cedar may be just the place for you.

Volunteers can provide our children and youth with positive role modeling, mentorship, and a greater connection within the urban Aboriginal community. Many of our volunteers have experience working with children and/or youth and want to share their cultural knowledge and experiences.

All volunteers at Surrounded by Cedar are required to participate in training and successfully complete a Criminal Records Check. You will also be asked to provide an updated resume.

Student & Internship Opportunities

Surrounded by Cedar Child & Family Services believes in giving back to the community by supporting students in their practicum placements or through their internship requirements. SCCFS believes that it embodies wise practice within Indigenous child welfare, and can offer positive mentorship to students and/or interns who may be new to the field. If you are interested in joining SCCFS through a practicum placement or internship, please contact us at (250) 383-2990 or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots.
