Surrounded by Cedar receives its delegation through the Provincial Director of Child Welfare, who gives the agency the authority to undertake administration of parts of the Child, Family and Community Service Act (CFCSA). Under its current delegation agreement, Surrounded by Cedar administers C3 (Family Services) & C4 services (Guardianship).

In the role of Administrative Assistant-Reception, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Greet and assist visitors who are calling and/or visiting the agency, including children, youth, young adults, caregivers, families, and community members.
  • Support the office by coordinating supply orders, managing the sign out of company vehicles, assets, and inventory, and providing general administrative support to a dynamic team of helpers.
  • Tap into your creative skills by assisting with the design and distribution of agency event posters, invites, flyers, and other communications.
  • Apply your communication skills through the development and nurturing of relationships with the agency’s vendors and suppliers.
  • Deploy your problem-solving skills to troubleshoot office equipment such as printers, copiers and postal machines.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Love and compassion for Indigenous children, youth, young adults, families, and communities, and a tenacity for supporting people.
  • Completion of Grade 12 and at least one year of experience in office administration, ideally within a social service setting.
  • Proficiency in the use of Windows-based computer applications.
  • Knowledge of and ability to maintain electronic and physical filing systems.
  • Satisfactory criminal record check.

WAGE

Wage: $50,190.94-$56,490.35 annually depending on education and experience.

Preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit as per Section 41 of the BC Human Rights Code.
