ABOUT OUR BOARD
In its creation, SCCFS heard from its community members that because women are the givers of life, the primary caregivers of children, and first teachers, they must play a strong role within the agency’s governance structure. SCCFS listened to this feedback, and shaped its constitution and bylaws accordingly.
Surrounded by Cedar’s Board consists of eight (8) Directors, of whom at least five (5) must be women and at least four (4) must be of Indigenous ancestry, one (1) must identify as an Elder, one (1) must have been in care, and one (1) must be either Nuu-chah-nulth or appointed by the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council.
