LIFELONG CONNECTIONS

Our Lifelong Connections Worker (LLCW) works to identify and locate a child/youth’s extended family and/or other close community members to build meaningful, lifelong connections with. Where it makes sense, these connections may also be explored as a permanency plan for the child/youth.

The LLCW may assist in facilitating out-of-region or out-of-province kinship placements as they are identified.

In collaboration with the child/youth’s legal guardian, family and Nation, the LLCW builds comprehensive genograms, ensuring urban Indigenous children/youth in care have accurate information regarding their familial ties, ancestral territories, and identity.
